Amazing Race

Argh Sophia!!! Why did you have to put up the winner of the Amazing Race? It's only been 3 weeks showing in Aussie. No shiok already watching. Hai....

My fault. I shouldn't have read your blog entry. And I'm still disgusted with Jonathan for treating Victoria like shit.

I know where it is!

"Erm, excuse me, miss. Do you know where Amigos on Keira Street is?"

"Yes. It's just down this road on the left hand side."

"Great! Thanks a lot!"

Suddenly I felt like a local around here. =)

Unnecessary Comment

I made a comment I shouldnt have yesterday at a game of tennis over at Beaton Park. I left my tennis racquet in Melbourne and had to borrow one. Many of my colleagues brought spares just for me and I complained about the first one I used.

To you, DP, sorry I said what I said. I didn't mean it. I think I said along the lines of the racquet being crap. Can't remember exactly what but I only realised it when I got home. I promise to apologise.

Still Can't

Somehow I am still finding it difficult to express myself. Consciously and still carefully I pen down my activites for the day. I suppose if you know me really well, I don't usually share my feelings. Only when necessary, I will tell you how I really feel.

Am I really happy here?

DVD

Am sneaking in a blog entry during my lunchtime.

Been a bit more busy at work this week, given 2 more small tasks in addition to my major radar sensor project. As long as I sit in the office doing the design work, I'm happy. Once I step out to visit the machines, I have to wear the ugly safety glasses which doesn't sit on my nose properly because of my glasses, and wear a safety helmet which is so gross because everyone else has worn it! I'm meant to get my own personal hard hat but I haven't received it yet. My forehead is just busting with pimples now. Yuck.

Well at least I don't have to think what to wear to work everyday. It's the clown suit, as they call it around here, coz it's blue and orange for high visibility and safety purposes.

Yesterday had a good time having some friends over for dinner at my place. The main aim was DVD night...on a working day! Yup, had a go watching My Sassy Girl which I myself find it as humurous as the first time I watched it. Our next DVD night will be to watch the House of Flying Daggers...with Takeshi I heard. Yey! I hope to get this DVD night going at least once a week, maybe a Friday. There's nothing much to do here in Wollongong, but I'll try to make things to do!

Then sings my soul...

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art,
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

I was reading April's blog when I saw the hymm she put up. It brought tears to my eyes when I was singing it in the church I am attending here in Gong. It's called Gateway Christian Centre. They are celebrating the goodness of God for blessing them with a new home, right in the CBD.

The pastor shared with us how they were praying and seeking God for a new place. During that time, a friend of his had a vision for him. Not knowing that they were looking to expand and find a new building, he told the pastor that he saw a building with glass doors and many people waiting outside with keys in their hands. One by one, they walked to the door, trying to open the door with their keys, but they couldn't. He said he saw the pastor standing near the door with a key but it was not yet time to open the door.

How true is this prophesy, when the Regent cinema in the city was up for grabs when the owner passed away suddenly. Everyone wanted a piece of the building...companies with big cheque books ready to buy it over. And how the church could compete with their tiny cheque book, they didn't really know how. But God is good, and we worshipped in the building for the first time last Sunday. The energy was overwhelming, the presence of God was so strong, and the love of the people was eminent.

I feel like I'm back home in WCF.

CNY

All my furniture arrived last Wednesday. The unpacking was done so quickly that I was amazed at their efficiency. Unfortunately I am missing a lamp stand. Still under investigation. I have also placed an ad to look for a flatmate. I'm really hoping and praying that I find one soon.

CNY was really quiet here. Sigh I so miss the celebrations. Looks like this is the 3rd consecutive CNY celebration away from home, which means no red packets for me.=( Darn! A few of us Malaysians went out for a CNY eve dinner, and a few ang mohs joined us. We are looking to go up to Sydney tomorrow to join in the festivities there and see the parade.

Went to this teppanyaki place for a friend's bday a couple of days ago. We took up two big tables since there were so many of us. I think this has been our biggest eat out ever. Each table had two hot grills where the chef cooks the meat in front of you. Little did I know that we had to partipate as well. First, it was the catching pieces of omelette in our mouths. Unfortunately I was the only one who failed that, and with 3 chances. I suck. Then we had to catch an egg in a bowl. Many of us missed and raw eggs were just all over the floor and jeans. Last one was catching a bowl of fried rice with an empty bowl. Yup imagine the floor after all our mess. I wouldn't want to be working there and cleaning up!

So far, I've made so many friends here. All of them graduates from various places. I'm the only asian in the group. There's this other China girl who doesn't really join us for activites. But I must say all of them are really friendly and we bonded very quickly...going out for dinners, celebrating birthdays, hanging out at the beach and going out for drinks every Friday night. I must admit that the number of times I've been to the pub here has beaten the number of times I've ever been in my whole entire life. Pub going can be fun, if you go with the right company and the right attitude. Not one of us has left the pub drunk. And I haven't seen any of us smoking a cigarette, which really surprises me. But it's a good thing. =) There's a really good pub that all of us enjoy hanging out because it has a backyard behind the building where people can sit out in the open and enjoy the fresh air, catch up with one another about work, etc.

Okie doks, looks like this will be the updates for now. Am going to the Nan Tien Temple, the biggest one in the southern hemisphere. Take care everyone, have a blast of a new year and remember poor ol teng in the gong. =)
