Fusion
I wrote a whole long journal and the stupid library computer decided to go berserk, with the CPU beeping loudly as if indicating that I should buzz off although I had a good 10 more minutes of usage...and I had not yet saved what I typed. Grrrrr. Boy am I annoyed.
Secound round of recap. Make sure you hit the SAVE button every 5 minutes, teng! Sigh...this second and last attempt entry is the closest my brains can squeeze out of its limited holding memory capacity. Hopefully every nook and crany of it.
Youngsters. Punksters. Teens.
Rock. Hillsongs. Worship.
It didn't seemed too long ago when I was out there on the dancefloor jumping for joy and singing.
It was our first combined youth meeting between the mother city church and its daughter down south. Something like CityLife Church Knox and Hobsons Bay. Usually, our fortnightly age-grouped meetings are held in various places in the building. The centre isn't big at all. Most of the time, you can hear thumping of feet and the manovres of the bass guitarist from the teens meeting upstairs while listening to a serious sermon in the 20-30s young adults meeting downstairs. I didn't mind that at all because I'm good at filtering what I hear and shouldn't hear. Well, most of the time anyway. Jason can probably testify to that - I can watch CSI, with all my attention focused on a single straight energy line between the eyes and the television pixels, and not hear a single word he's saying. Classic me. But I do have flaws, especially when it comes to music. I won't be able to filter it if a familiar song comes into play and I will drift to MusicHaven almost immediately.
But I enjoyed Fusion very much, saved for a sore upper back and shoulders after standing for a good two hours. Praise God for a few youth who wanted to receive Christ after the meeting. It was excellent! I am surprised that no one in church (well the ones I know anyway) didn't ask if Soh Ai was my sister. We used to get those comments all the time in OCF and getting mixed up for one another, mainly because we are both fair and of almost similar height, we both wear glasses, and we both have ponytails. It must have been Soh Ai's funky glasses that may have made the difference now.
It was a good time catching up with her over yummy dessert, walking along the beach, playing fetch with someone's dog, and having loads of laughs when the dog barked if we refused to throw the stick. I was also very proud of myself for being able to command the dog to sit and stay, and to run away when I swinged my arm. I'm good.
The next day, I was invited to a church lunch, organised every six weeks to welcome newcomers and to explain their visions and background of the church. Everyone was so friendly and I really feel welcomed. Already, we had dinner at one family's home, and probably lunch with a Chinese family this Sunday, so I heard.
Things are starting to pick up now. Guess I'll save my other stories for next time because 1) I need to pee 2) I'm hungry 3) I must eat 1.5 hours before my netball game at 9pm 4) And of course, netball game at 9pm.
